Checking Account

You will love your checking account at Total Community Credit Union! There are no per check charges. Checking accounts at Total Community Credit Union have Overdraft Protection. This service covers checks when the balance in your checking account is not sufficient to cover them. There is no charge for this coverage unless it is used to cover a check or electronic debit.

To cover such items, we either issue you a loan or deduct the funds from one of your other savings accounts in increments of $100.00. There is a charge of $3.00 when Overdraft Protection protects your account. The amount of the protection is equal to the overdraft loan for which we approve you plus the balance in your savings account, if you choose that option. The coverage can come from your savings first, if you prefer. Overdraft Protection from your savings account will incur a charge of $3.00 also.  Before opening a checking account, you must first have a savings account with us. Once you have a checking account, you will also want a TCCU VISA Check Card. This card will work as an ATM card and function as a check at any VISA Merchant throughout the world. Do not leave home without it. Through our Online Home Banking or through PAT (Phone-A-Teller), our voice response service, day or night, you can check the balance of your account and find out which checks have cleared. Sign up for PAT and Online Home Banking when you open your account. Depending on your overall balance, there may be a small monthly charge. You should reconcile your account every month when you receive your statement.
