Certified Checks

A certified check is a good way to guarantee funds for the person(s) or company to whom your personal check is made payable. Unlike money orders and cashier checks, there is no dollar limit on the amount of a certified check. It can be for as little or as much as you need it to be.

To certify a check you simply write one of your own personal checks that are drawn off your account at TCCU. Write out the date, who it’s made payable to, the dollar amount, and sign it. You then bring the check into our office and request that we certify your check. We hold the funds in your account for that payee, dollar amount, and check number. Then we stamp it certified. This will give assurance to the payee of the check that the funds are readily available for them only! If you wish to get a certified check, the charge for this is just $2.50.
